INTRODUCTION

Salafis and their like minded groups worship  a Planetary human-like-Deity  ( Sky God ) who has hands, eyes, and other limbs and a huge human-like physical body. They say that their Sky God does not live among His creation, but is  encompassing the world from a distance outside the borders of His creation.  Meaning their God is bigger than the biggest of planets of this Universe.  They claim their God is sitting on a massive chair on the skies in a certain direction. They call this Planetary human-like-Deity ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان as Allah (Astaghfiruallah). They misinterpret Quranic  verses and Ahadith to legitimize their wrongful beliefs.  Read more ..

There are many Ahadith and Quranic verses which confirm  that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) was seen by Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم in this world, in Dreams and during Me'iraj.  Many pious people have also reported that they have seen Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in their dreams. But nowhere in Ahadith or Quranic verses it is mentioned that what Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw, was a  Planetary-human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) (Astaghfirullah).

As a matter of fact, nowhere in Quran and Ahadith  it is mentioned that (Nauzubillahi) Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) has a Planetary human-like-physical-body, as claimed by Salafis.  They misinterpret Ayat-e-Mutashabihaat (allegorical verses) to push innocent people into Idol worship.

[Meaning - And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah ( سبحانہ و تعا لی ) or (he who) gives the lie to His communications (verses of Quran); surely the unjust will not be successful. ] ( Al-An'aam - 21).

This Article explains  important facts  about Allah  (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in the light of Quran and Ahadith.

There are 3 sections in the Article,  as described below.

We are positive that whoever reads this Article, all his doubts about Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لیwill be cleared.  We are also positive that all our Salafi friends will benefit from this information and , In Sha Allah, will come back to the straight path of Islam.

SECTION  -  I

(a) Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  can be seen on the Day of Judgment

The following Quranic verses and Hadith confirm that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) can be seen on the Day of Judgment.

It is in Quran - وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ . إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ  [ Some faces that Day (the Day of Judgment)  shall beam  (in brightness and beauty).  Looking at their Lord (Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی)] (Al-Qiyamah - 22-23).

It is in Quran -  كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ  [Nay, surely, they (evil doers / non believers / Hypocrites) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day (the Day of Judgment).] (Al-Mutaffifeen - 15).

[For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things).] (Al-Ankaboot - 5).

It is in Hadith - Bukhari and Muslim narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that the people said, " O'Allah's Apostle  (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on a full moon night?" They said, "No, O' Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)". He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" They said, "No, O' Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)". He said, "So you will see Him, like that." (Bukhari, Muslim)

Salafi  Misconception - Salafis claim that their Sky Idol is the creator of this Universe  and also the Judge on the Day of Resurrection.  And he will be seen by the people on that Day.   They refer above Quranic verses and Ahadith to support their claim.

The question is, as their Sky Idol is very huge, definitely bigger than planet Earth, how come people will be able to see him on that Day? In view of his massive planetary structure, the Earth  will not be able to accommodate his weight and  size.

Salafis may say that Earth will be expanded on that Day and their Idol's huge body will be accommodated on Earth.  OK, let us accept their contention for argument sake, but as their Sky Idol's body is extremely big, when he  comes down to sit on Earth, his face will go far away up, beyond our Earth's outer space.  As compared to it, the human beings are like microscopic insects in front of him.  Then  how come people will be able to see him?

If you ask the above question from Salafi scholars, they will say that their God is capable to change his physical body as per the requirements of the Day of Judgment and will come down to Earth, in a specific smaller shape which can be seen by the people.  But this belief is exactly like Hindu belief of incarnation.  Hindus claim that their God Brahama incarnates his physical body (meaning changes the size and shape of his body like small human beings) and appears on Earth  in the shape of Rama, Krishna, Venkateshwara, Sai Baba, etc., as per the requirements of different times.

The above undeniable facts show that the Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) worshiped by Salafis is not Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).

As a matter of fact there is no such Idol sitting on the skies.  This  was the pure fiction of Pagan's minds which is carried to this date by their descendant Salafis.

(b) Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  can be seen by Paradise Dwellers

The following Quranic verse and Hadith confirm the fact that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) can be seen by Paradise dwellers.

[For those who have done good is the best (reward - Paradise) and even more ( having the honor of glancing at the Countenance of Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی). Neither darkness nor dust nor any humiliating disgrace shall cover their faces.  They are the dwellers of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.] (Younus  - 26).

It is in Hadith - It is narrated by Jaber (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) who narrates it from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) that the People of Heaven (Paradise) will be busy in their delights and suddenly a divine light will glitter over them.  They will raise their heads to find that their Lord  is manifested on them saying ‘Peace be  upon you O’ People of Heaven’. The Prophet  (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, this is the exegesis of the verse  "سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ " ( Yasin - 58 ).  The Prophet  (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said ‘ The Sustainer looks at them, they see  their Sustainer; and they do not look at any of the graceful things provided to them  as long as they are seeing  their Sustainer, until their Sustainer gets back into the veil.  And the traces of His Light will remain on them.  (Tirmidhi, Mishkaath).

Salafi  Misconception -  Salafis claim that their Sky Idol will be seen by the People of Paradise and they quote the above Quranic verse and Ahadith as  prove of their claims.  But as we  have mentioned above, people in Paradise will  have the same problem because of the  huge body of their Sky Idol.  Also, in view of Sky Idol's ( المعبود الوحش ) monstrous features people will be scared to look at him. How can they be happy to see him?

This confirms the fact that the Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) worshiped by Salafis is not Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).

Imagine, if this monstrous Idol is kept in Paradise, the paradise will look like a Hubul Temple.  Paradise is a place where Idols cannot be kept.  It is very unfortunate for Salafis who consider that their Monstrous Idol ( المعبود الوحش ) will be kept in Paradise.  Their scholars have taught them wrong notions which will surely result in eternal punishment of Hell for all of them.

(c) Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  can be seen in Dreams

The following Hadith confirms the fact Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has seen Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in dreams.

It is in Hadith - Narrated by Mu’adh ibn Jabal (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ): Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) was held up one morning from observing the dawn prayer (in congregation) along with us till the sun had almost appeared on the horizon. He then came out hurriedly and Iqamah for prayer was observed and he conducted it (prayer) in brief form. When he had concluded the prayer by saying As-salamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah, he called out to us saying: Remain in your places as you were. Then turning to us he said: I am going to tell you what held me from you (on account of which I could not join you in the prayer) in the morning.

"I got up in the night and performed ablution and observed the prayer as had been ordained for me. I dozed in my prayer till I was overcome (by  vision or dream) and Lo, I found myself in the presence of my Lord, the Blessed and the Glorious, IN THE BEST FORM. He said: Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)! I said: At your service, my Lord. He said: What these highest angels contend about? I said: I do not know. He repeated it thrice. He (Prophet Mohammad - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said: Then I saw Him ( Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی ) put HIS PALMS between my shoulder blades till I felt the coldness of HIS FINGERS between the two sides of my chest. Then everything was illuminated for me and I could recognize everything (in Heaven and Earth)". (Ahmad, Tirmidhi)

Salafi  Misconception -  Hadith confirms the fact that Allah (swt) placed his palms on the shoulder of Prophet Mohammad As per Salafi beliefs, their God is monstrous, bigger than planets.  Naturally his hands will also be very very long.  How could he place his palms on the shoulder of a human being?

This confirms that  the Idol worshiped by Salafis is not Allah As a matter of fact Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) destroyed all Idols kept in Ka'aba and in Arabian Peninsula and instructed Muslims to refrain from Idol worship in all its formats. It is very unfortunate for Salafis that they continued Idol worship of their old pagan ancestors. To hide their Pagan identity, they  call themselves Salafis.

(d) Prophet Mohammad saw Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) during the night of ascension ( Me'iraj )

The following Quranic verses and Hadith confirm that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw  Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) during Me'raj.

It is in Quran - وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ . [The Mighty in power (Allah –سبحانہ و تعا لی) has offered him (Prophet Mohammad – صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) the knowledge.  So (equipped), he stood well poised. (With the perfect vision attained) at the highest horizon. Then he (the Prophet – صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) approached closer and hung (by Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی ). Then (both) closed up like two bows, and indeed more closely. And He revealed to His servant (Prophet Mohammad – صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) what He wanted to reveal. The heart of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  did not distrust what he saw. Will you people wrangle over what he beheld (saw). For indeed he beheld Him (Allah -  سبحانہ و تعا لی ) yet again. Near the 'Lote' tree lying farthest beyond which no one can go. Lying close to the Heaven of Rest. When the 'Lote' tree was being enveloped by what it was to be enveloped with (a mystery not disclosed). His (Prophet Mohammad -  صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) sight did not blink or did it miss anything. Indeed he saw clearly the greatest of the signs of his Lord’]. (An-Najm – 1-18).
The expression in the above verse  " He revealed to His Servant " clearly shows that the conversation is between Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and  Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم); meaning Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) appeared to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) in order to grant him revelation. The text does not say that Jibril ( علیھ السلا م ) appeared to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  If we take Jibril ( علیھ السلا م ), in place of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in the above verse, it will mean that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) is the Servant of Jibril ( علیھ السلا م ) (nauzubillahi), which is not correct.
It is in Hadith - Hazrat Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) reported that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) on the 'Night of Ascension (Me'araj) ( Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Ahadith Nos.  334 and 335).

Salafi  Misconception -   In the above verses, it is mentioned that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) came together like two bows.  Salafis should think that their Sky Idol's  Planetary body is bigger than planets  and Prophet Mohammad's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) body is so small, then how come they both became closed to each other like two bows?

If you ask Salafi scholars about it, they will say that their God incarnated himself and appeared to Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) in a smaller body of a human being on the night of Me'raj. This  belief makes Salafis identical with Hindus in faith, as Hindus also believe in incarnation of their God.

Salafis translate Islamic Kalima as  "There is no Deity  (Idol) save Allah. When they say Allah is one, they mean that the Big Deity or Idol sitting on the skies is one, unique and no other Deity or Idol is like it.  They worship this idol 5 times a day.

Ibn Taymiyaah who propagated Paganism in the name of Islam, invented a theory of their Idol's Tawheed or Oneness of their Planetary human-like-Idol (
المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ), which was later improved by other Salafi Scholars  as follows:

(i) Tawheed-ar-Rububiyya
(ii) Tawheed al-Uloohiyya, and
(iii) Tawheed-al-Asma-was-Sifaat

In Tawheed-ar-Rububiyya, they claim that their Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) is  "Rabb" or Sustainer of all creatures and human beings in the Universe.

In Tawheed-al-Uloohiya, they claim that their Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) is Divine. They prostrate in front of this Idol.  They say that they only ask from their Sky Idol and from no one else. They demand all Muslims to ask from their Idol God. Whoever does not do that, they call him Mushrik.

In Tawheed al-Asma-was-Sifaat, they claim that their Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) is  'compassionate, merciful and all that.  As a matter of fact, they   copy-paste all Quranic verses and Ahadith about Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) on their Sky God by misinterpreting their meanings. Watch the following video clip.

The above facts shows that by calling their Planetary human-like-Idol ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) as Allah, Salafis have led millions of people into Idol worship and all of them will sure enter Hell fire in Hereafter.

(e) (i) Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  in this world.

Quran and Sunnah confirm very emphatically and in most strongest terms that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in this world.  Read the following verses and Ahadith carefully.

It is in Quran - إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ . وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ   [ That this is the truth of an honored Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne.   To be obeyed and trustworthy. And your Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) (is wise) not like unsensible person.  Surely he beheld Him (Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی) on the clear horizon.  And he is not avid of unseen. Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy of stoned.  Where are you going then. This is naught, else than a reminder for all creations. To whoever among you wills to go straight. But you shall not will, except as Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) wills, the Sustainer of the worlds.] (At-Takweer - 19-29).

Differences of opinions of Scholars and clarification

When we read the entire Surah Takweer, we realize that the context is between Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).   In the above verses, it is mentioned " That this is the truth of an honored Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. To be obeyed and trustworthy".  If we keep Jibreel ( علیھ السلا م ) in place of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), it will mean that we are ordered to obey Jibreel ( علیھ السلا م ) directly.  However, at several places in Quran we are ordered to 'Obey Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and never in Quran it is ordered to obey Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and Jibreel ( علیھ السلا م ) together.' Thus the entire sequence of verses points to the fact that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has seen Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in this world.

The sighting of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) by Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), mentioned in Surah Takweer,  is reported by Abdullah bin Abbas, Anas bin Malik, Akramah, Abu Salma, Dhahhak, Abul Aalia, Hasan, Ka'ab al-Ahbar, Sha'rik bin Abdullah, Sha'abi, and others (رضئ اللھ تعالی عنہم اجمعین ) which has been narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Jarir, Baghawi, and other Imams of Ahadith. Accordingly, many scholars have emphasized the sighting of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) by Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) in their Tafaasir.

It is in Hadith -  Narrated by Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) - Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said that ‘My Sustainer came to me in a very good face and  said,  O’ Mohammed (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), I submitted, ‘Yes my Sustainer,  present; I am present’.  He said, ‘Do you know the sublime Angels argue with each other in what’?  ‘ I submitted , I do not know’.  Then He placed His hand (of omnipotence)  in between my shoulders and I found the coolness of  the hand into my chest and then I knew whatever there is, in the skies and the earth.  (Tirmidhi - Mishkaath).

It is in Hadith - Narrated by Abdur Rahman ibn A’ish (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) - Allah’s  Messenger (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said - I saw my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious in the most beautiful form. He (Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی)  said: What do the Angels in the presence of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) contend about? I  said: You are the most aware of it. He then placed HIS PALM between my shoulders and I felt its coldness in my chest and I came to know what was in the Heavens and the Earth. He recited (this verse) [Thus did we show Ibrahim (علیھ السلا م) the Kingdom of the Heavens and the Earth and it was so that he might have certainty.] (Al-An'am - 75).] (Darimi,Tirmidhi ).

Bayhaqi narrated the above Hadith "I saw my Lord in al-Asma' wa al-Sifat" with a sound chain with the addition - in the form of a curly-haired, beardless young man wearing a green robe".

Suyuti  interpreted it either as a dream or, quoting his Shaykh Ibn al-Humam, as "the veil of form" (hijab al-sura).

It is in Hadith -  Narrated by Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ): Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said - I saw my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious in the most beautiful form.  Akrama (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, on this  I submitted,  does not   Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) say  that “Peoples’ eyes cannot perceive Him.  He perceives their eyes.”, then  Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, Hey ’ this is true when Allah’s (سبحانہ و تعا لی) refulgence (Tajalli) is from the divine light which is the “Light of His Unity”. Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  has seen his Sustainer (Rab) twice”. (Tirmidhi).

Salafi  Misconception -  Nowhere  in the above Quranic verses and Ahadith there is a mention of Planetary human-like-Idol-body ( المعبود الكواكب مثل الإنسان ) as Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) (Astaghfiruallahal Azeem). This shows that  the huge Idol  worshiped by Salafis is not Allah

As a matter of fact, Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has confirmed that he has seen Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in a most beautiful form which does not match with the monstrous features of  Sky Idol worshiped by Salafis.

(e) (ii) Verses of Quran and Ahadith that relate to vision of Allah in this world.

(1) It is in Hadith - (Bukhari) Narrated by Abdullah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) - "Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said  'Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) is not hidden from you".
(2) It is in Hadith - Narrated by Jareer (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that he said, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said,  soon you will see your Sustainer (Rab) openly. (Bukhari - Muslim - Mishkaath)
In the above Hadith, there is no condition of time or place. Probably the addressees of this Hadith were Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) exclusive companions who were rewarded with  unveiling (Kashf -  Spiritual vision).
(3) It is in Hadith - Bukhari, Muslim and others.  (It is a long Hadith. Translation of a part is given here).  "Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said that ‘you worship Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) seeing Him, and in case you fail to see Him, do your prayer knowing fully well that He is seeing you".
(4) It is in Hadith - (Bukhari, Muslim and others) It is narrated by Jareer Bin Abdullah al-Bajali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that he said: "We were with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and he said, 'You will certainly see your Lord as you see this moon, and there will be no trouble in seeing Him'.

Apparently, the addressees of the above Hadith were Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) exclusive companions who were rewarded with  unveiling (Kashf -  Spiritual vision).

(5) It is in Quran -  وَقُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمۡ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ فَتَعۡرِفُونَہَا‌ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ [" (Say O'Prophet  - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) Praise be to Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).  He will show you His signs and you will recognize them.  Your Lord is not heedless of anything you do.]  (An-Naml - 93).

(6) It is in Quran -  وَمَن كَانَ فِى هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أَعۡمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ أَعۡمَىٰ [Meaning - "The one who is blind (in spiritual vision) in this world, will be blind in Hereafter] (Isra - 72).
(7) It is in Quran -  وَلِلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ ۚ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ["To Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) belong the East and the West. Wherever you turn, you will find Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی). Indeed Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) is all pervading (He is there throughout the Cosmos) and Omniscient ( infinitely wise ).] (Al-Baqra – 115 )
(8) It is in Quran -  هُوَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُ وَٱلۡأَخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلۡبَاطِنُ‌ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ  [ He is the First, and the Last, He is the Manifest (apparent) and the Immanent (present throughout the material world) and is the knower of all things’. (Al-Hadeed – 3).

(9) It is in Quran -  هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ۬ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِ‌ۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡہَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا يَعۡرُجُ فِيہَا‌ۖ وَهُوَ مَعَكُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ۬  ["He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days; then He mounted the Throne. He knows all that enters the Earth and all that emerges therefrom and all that comes down from the sky and all that ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are.  And Allah ( سبحانہ و تعا لی  ) is Seer of what you do".] (Al-Hadid - 4).

(10) It is in Quran -  وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ‌ۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ [Meaning - 'He is in your own self, will you not see']  (Adh-Dhariyat - 21).
(11)  It is in Quran - وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفۡسُهُ ۥ‌ۖ وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ ٱلۡوَرِيدِ [ Meaning - We (Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی) verily created man and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein’.] (Qaf – 16).

(12) It is in Quran -   وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ‌ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ‌ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِى [ Meaning - 'When My servants ask you (O'Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) concerning Me, (tell them) I am ever present (with them) and I listen to the call of him that calls Me'.] (Al-Baqara - 186).

SECTION  - II

Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  cannot be seen by anyone in this World, or in Dreams, or on the Day of Judgment or in Paradise

The following Quranic verses  and Hadith negate vision of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) by human beings in this world or in Hereafter or beyond.

(i) It is  in Quran -     لَيۡسَ كَمِثۡلِهِۦ شَىۡءٌ۬‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ   [ Nothing is like Him, and He is the Seer and Hearer.] (Ash-Shura - 11).

(ii) It is in Quran -   لَّا تُدۡرِڪُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ  [Peoples' eyes ( be it physical eyes or heart eyes or spiritual eyes)  cannot see Him, He sees their eyes (them).  He has minute vision and is aware of everything. (Al-An'aam - 103).

[It is not fitting for a human being that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) permission, what Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise".] (Ash-Shura - 51).

(iv) It is in Quran -  وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَن تَرَانِي وَلَـٰكِنِ انظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا ۚ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ [ And when Musa (عليه السلام) came at the time and place appointed by us and his Lord spoke to him; he said "O'My Lord, show me (yourself) that I may look upon You".  Allah said "you cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain, if it stands still in its place, then you shall see Me".  So when his Lord manifested His Tajalli on the mountain, He made it collapse to dust and Musa ( عليه السلام ) fell down unconscious.  Then when he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to You, I turn to You in repentance and I am foremost of the believers.] ( Al Araf - 143).

(v) It is in Hadith - Abdullah bin Shaqiq reported: I said to Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) : Had I seen the Apostle of Allah, I would have asked him. He (Abu Dharr - رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said: What is that thing that you wanted to inquire of him? He said: I wanted to ask him whether he had seen his Lord.  Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said: I, in fact, inquired of him, and he replied: I saw Light نُور (Allah's Tajalli-e-Zaati). (Muslim, Book # 1, Hadith # 342).

قَالَ نُورٌ انى أَرَاهُ [ Narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)  - I asked the Messenger of Allah ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) - Did you see your Lord?  He (the Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said  "He is light  نُور, I saw Him.] (Muslim, Book # 1, Hadith # 341).

It is important to note that Allah's light ( نُور )  is within his Zaat.  It is not that Zaat-e-Elahi is within His light ( نُور ). We cannot confine Zaat-e-Elahi into His own light, ( نُور ) or into a form,  shape, or body;  exclusively divine or creature like.  If you do that, it will be shirk.

(vii) It is in Quran -  اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ [ Allah is the نُور (light - existence) of Heavens and Earth.]  (An-Noor - 35).

(viii) It is in Hadith -  Narrated by Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ): Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said - I saw my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious in the most beautiful form. Akrama (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, on this  I submitted,  does not   Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) say  that “Peoples’ eyes cannot perceive Him.  He perceives their eyes.”, then  Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, Hey ’ this is true when Allah’s (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Tajalli ( manifestation) is from His divine light  (part of Hadith). (Tirmidhi).

We believe in all Quranic verses, in all Ahadith that have reached to us from authentic sources.  We also believe in sayings of Sahaba, the interpretations of Imams of Fiqh and Theology and our Shuyook of Ihsan.

It is in Quran  -  وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا  ۚ [The people who strive in Our way, We  (Allah - سبحانہ و تعا لی) show and put them on the right path' (Al-Ankaboot - 69).

The meanings of  'Manifestationare (i) Sign ( آيت ), (ii) Refulgence (تجلي ) (iii) Expression (إظهار), (iv) Appearance ( ظهور ), and (v) Materialization  (تجسد   or  التحقق).

Absolute Existence of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) cannot be manifested in a shape, body, form of any kind - exclusive, divine or creature like. Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) is free from time, place, form and composition, physical or spiritual.  He does not live in a place and is not made up of parts like hands, eyes, face, etc.  He is pure from the consideration of any kind of body; physical, spiritual, visible or invisible.  His Unity (Zaat-e-Elahi) cannot be expressed  within the limitations of time, space and dwelling.  Therefore, it cannot be seen by human beings, from their physical eyes or the eyes of their hearts or spiritual eyes.  No one can see Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی), including Prophets, Awliya Allah or anybody, in this world, or in Hereafter, or beyond." This is the meaning of the above Quranic verses and Ahadith.  Whoever has seen Him, has either seen His Tajalli-e-Zaati ( نُور ) or Tajalli-e-Sifaati (in the shape of His creatures).
Makkan Pagans at the time of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) believed in a Sky Idol God who has hands, eyes, legs and a physical human-like body, who is sitting up in the skies.  They used to call him 'Allah', because the Arabic translation of God is Allah. They did not understand the facts about Allah  (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  even though Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) explained them explicitly.

It is in Quran  -  لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ   [ Certainly Allah (  سبحانہ و تعا لی ) conferred a benefit upon the believers when He raised among them a Messenger ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) from among themselves, reciting to them His communications (Ayat) and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and the wisdom, although before that they were surely in manifest error.]  (Aal-e-Imran - 164)

Salafis' belief in Sky Idol God
is the same as that of  Makkan Pagans

Salafis consider, facts about Allah  (سبحانہ و تعا لی) as kalam and philosophy, and treat it as illogical shirk. To prove their pre-Islamic Pagan beliefs, they misinterpret Quranic verses and Ahadith by taking literal / textual meanings of Ayat-e-Mutashabihaat (allegorical verses) and claim hands, huge planetary body for Allah This belief is nothing but idol worship which was the belief of Makkan Pagans.  Read  more..

It is historically proved that the pagans of  Mada'in, Iraq and Central Asia were the ancestors of Indian Hindus.  These Pagans were the coursins of Makkan Pagans. They migrated to India as Aryans after the times of Ismail ( علیھ السلا م ) and Is-haq ( علیھ السلا م ).  This way, Hindus are real cousins of Salafis, Deobandis and their like minded groups as their belief  in idol worship remained the same for thousands of years.  They did not benefit from Islam and remained adamant in their pre-Islamic Idol worship.

The difference between Hindus and Salafis is, while Hindus call their God as Brahma or Vishnu;  Salafis call their Sky Idol as Allah ( because in Arabic,  God is translated as Allah).  Salafi God has a monster-like physical body who has hands, face, legs and other parts like human beings.

Hindus believe in male gods, female gods, children gods, animal gods, star/planet gods and so on.  Salafis claim that their God is single, self made, one of its kind, and does not have wife, children, parents, etc.

Christians focused associate divinity with Isa ( علیھ السلا م ) and believe in Trinity, The Father God, the Son of God and the Holy Ghost.  They claim, these are three different forms, but God is the same.  Very strange theory indeed.

See how close are the beliefs of Salafis, Hindus and Christians! They all claim they believe in one God.  They all believe in a physical body of their God. They all believe in different forms or incarnations of their Gods.  In short, they are all Idol worshipers.

SECTION  - III

The meaning of vision of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in the light of Quran and Ahadith

There are 99 famous names of Allah

What is name?

Name is the mixture of Zaat (person) + Sifat (attribute).  Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) name is "Rahman", ( الرحمن - Compassionate) meaning it is the mixture of His Zaat + His attribute of compassion (towards His creatures).

Similarly, His name is "Raheem",  (  الرحيم - Merciful ) which is the mixture of His Zaat + His attribute of Mercy (towards His creatures).

The same is the case with His other names (epithets of Allah-

Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) likes to show His "Compassion", His  "Mercy" and His other attributes to His creatures so that they see His magnificence, independence (self subsistence) and their indigence (dependence) upon Him. Thus, Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Tajalliyat-e-Asma wa al-Sifaat  or Signs ( الآيات ) appear in front of us in various shapes and forms continuously.

It is in Quran -  وَقُلِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمۡ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ فَتَعۡرِفُونَہَا‌ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ [(Say O'Prophet  - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) Praise be to Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).  He will show you His signs and you will recognize them.  Your Lord is not heedless of anything you do.]  (An-Naml - 93).

Look at the beautiful description of "Allah's Signs"  in Holy Quran.

[It is He Who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and from it come the shrubs among which you graze your herds. And by it He makes crops grow for you and olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind. . There is certainly a sign in that for people who reflect. He has made the night and the day subservient to you, and the sun, the moon and the stars, all subject to His command. There are certainly signs in that for people who use their intellect. And also the things of varying colors He has created for you in the earth. There is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. It is He who made the sea subservient to you so that you can eat fresh flesh from it and bring out from it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships cleaving through it so that you can seek His bounty, and so that perhaps you may show thanks. He cast firmly embedded mountains on the earth so it would not move under you, and rivers and pathways so that perhaps you might be guided, and landmarks. And they are guided by the stars. Is He Who creates like him who does not create? So will you not pay heed?]  (An-Nahl - 10-17).

The entire cosmos and all worlds in it, are the places of manifestation of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Signs  or  Tajalliyat  which  can appear in any form or shape.

(Tirmidhi).

The above Hadith clearly distinguishes between Manifestation of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی)  Tajalli-e-Zaati (which is referred to as 'Light of His Unity')  and Tajalli-e-Sifaati - Manifestation of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Attributes.  Prophet Mohammad ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah in both Tajalli-e-Zaati and Tajalli-e-Sifaati.  In Tajalli-e-Zaati, what the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) witnessed is formless light ( نُور );  and in Tajalli-e-Sifaati, the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw Allah in the shape of a human being.

Important points to be remembered

(i) Sighting of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in  Tajalli-e-Asma wo Sifaat  will be in the shape of His creatures or  in the shape of a human being or any other shape.
(ii) Sighting of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in Tajalli-e-Zaati  is  ( نُور ) formless light.
(iii) If a person has seen Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in a dream in the shape of human being and he remembers that shape and dream very well. He can remember that shape and hold it in highest respect.  However, it is not allowed for him to draw the picture of that human shape, place it in front of him as Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) picture and prostrate. If he does that, it will be treated as Shirk.  Similarly, if he  considers that what he saw is the shape of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) and imaginatively confines / encompasses Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Unity into that shape and performs Salah five times a day with that belief, his Salah will be treated as idol worship.
(iv) Salafis, Hindus, Christians (and their like minded groups)  have made terrible blunder in understanding Allah's They imagine Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in a  physical  shape  which has eyes, hands, face, body, etc. This kind of belief is Idol worship. Salafis'  so-called-Salah  five times a day,  with this belief,  is nothing but  absolute idol worship because, as per their belief, they are encompassing/confining/arresting  the Unity of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) (Zaat-e-Elahi) into an imaginary body sitting on a big chair over the skies. (La Haula wala QuwwataIlla Billah)

(v) If a person who follows Salafism in any of its formats is seen prostrating or doing Salah in a mosque or in front of Kabatullah or  in Masjid-e-Nabawi, the Angels who record his deeds will write his name as Idol worshiper only because he is prostrating to an Idol who is made up of a physical human-like body and who is sitting on the Skies. There cannot be two opinions in this context because his intention is very well known to the Angels.  He will also be recorded as a Hypocrite (Munafiq) in angels' books because he is claiming himself to be a Muslim.

[And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah ( سبحانہ و تعا لی ) or (he who) gives the lie to His communications (verses of Quran); surely the unjust will not be successful. ] ( Al-An'aam - 21).

(vi) We worship Unity of Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) (Zaat-e-Elahi) that cannot be encompassed into any shape, form or body; exclusive or creature like.  Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) is free from time, place, form and composition.  He does not live in a place and is not made up of parts like hands, eyes, face, etc.  His Unity (Zaat-e-Elahi) cannot be expressed  within the limitations of time, space and dwelling. He is beyond the imaginations of human beings. Read more ..

Differences of Opinions of Sahabah and Imams

We will discuss briefly the differences of opinions of Sahaba and Imams in this regard.

It is in Hadith - narrated by Masruq (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) - I said to Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا), "O'Mother! Did Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) see his Lord?" Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) said, "What you have said makes my hair stand on end! Know that if somebody tells you one of the following three things, HE IS A LIAR -

"Whoever tells you that Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) saw his Lord, IS A LIAR."  Then Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) recited the following verses: (1) " لَّا تُدۡرِڪُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ‌ۖ [Peoples' eyes (be it physical eyes or heart eyes)  cannot see Him. He sees their eyes (them).] (Al-An'aam - 103). ;   and (2) "وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحۡيًا أَوۡ مِن وَرَآىِٕ حِجَابٍ ["It is not fitting for a human being that Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil.] (Ash-Shura - 51).

(Bukhari - Vol 6, Book 60, Hadith # 378 - part of the Hadith). This Hadith is also mentioned in Muslim (Book No. 1 -Hadith # 337)

Read carefully the above Hadith.  Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) is not narrating a Hadith, rather  she is clarifying the meanings of the verses of Quran and the reasons for her observations on a narration (Hadith).  What  Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا)  is referring is Allah's - سبحانہ و تعا لی Absolute Existence which cannot be seen by anyone and therefore she is quoting the verses of Quran that negate sighting of Allah's absolute existence.  Nothing can encompass Zaat-e-Elahi.

Look at the following Ahadith that confirm sighting of Allah's manifestations in (i)  Tajalli-e-Zaati (Light of His Unity), and (ii) Tajalli-e- Sifaati (His attributes Refulgence)

He perceives their eyes.”, then  Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said, Hey ’ this is true when Allah’s (سبحانہ و تعا لی) refulgence (Tajalli) is from the divine light which is the “Light of His Unity”  (Tajalli-e-Zaati). Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم)  has seen his Sustainer (Rab) twice”. (Tirmidhi).

قَالَ نُورٌ انى أَرَاهُ [ Narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)  - I asked the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) - Did you see your Lord?  He (the Prophet - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said  "He is light  نُور, I saw Him.] (Muslim, Book # 1, Hadith # 341).

It is important to note that Allah's light ( نُور )  is within his Zaat.  It is not that Zaat-e-Elahi is within His light ( نُور ). We cannot confine Zaat-e-Elahi into His own light, ( نُور ) or into a form,  shape, or body;  exclusively, divine or creature like.  If you do that, it will be shirk.

It is in Quran -   ٱللَّهُ نُورُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۚ  [Meaning - Allah is the light (existence) of the Heavens and Earth’.]  (An-Noor -35).

It is in Quran – Indeed he (Prophet Mohammad - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم ) saw clearly the greatest of the Signs (manifestations) of his Lord  (during Me'araj)’.  (An-Najm – 18).

Bayhaqi narrated a Hadith - Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said " I saw my Lord ( in al-Asma' wa al-Sifat ) in the form of a curly-haired, beardless young man wearing a green robe"  with a sound chain.
Thus, Sahaba and Imams rightly said that Zaat-e-Elahi (the absolute existence of Allah) cannot be encompassed by human beings from the physical or spiritual eyes.

However  Sighting of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Tajalli-e-Zaati is  ( نُور ) formless light.  And  sighting of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) Tajalli-e-Asma wo Sifaat  can be witnessed in the shape of His creatures.

Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) witnessed Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) in both;  Tajalli-e-Zaati  ( نُور ),  and  Tajalli-e-Asma was Sifaat  -  in the shape of His creatures.
