Hood | Sura # 11| 123 verses | Makka

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 073

قَالُوا أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ إِنَّهُ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ [ They said, 'Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you (and the) people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable.']

Ibrahim (عليه السلام) had two wives, (i) Sarah (عليها السلام), and (Hajira) (عليها السلام).  Hajira (عليها السلام) was the second wife, relatively younger than Sarah (عليها السلام).  Sarah (عليها السلام) gave birth to Ishaq (عليه السلام). Later, Hajira (عليها السلام) also gave birth to a child, Ismail (عليه السلام). Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) is from the descendants of Ismail (عليه السلام).

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 074

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاءَتْهُ الْبُشْرَى يُجَادِلُنَا فِي قَوْمِ لُوطٍ [ And when the awe subsided and the good tidings had reached him, Ibrahim (عليه السلام) started to plead with Us concerning the people of Loot (عليه السلام).]

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 075

إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّاهٌ مُنِيبٌ [ Indeed, Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was forbearing, compassionate and softhearted.]

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 076

Indeed, the command of your Lord has (already) come, and surely there will reach them a punishment that cannot be repelled.']

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 077

وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ [ And when Our messengers, (the angels), came to Loot (عليه السلام) (in human form as handsome youths). He was anguished for them and felt for them great discomfort (not being able to protect them from his disbelieving people) and said, 'This is a trying day.']

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 078

وَجَاءَهُ قَوْمُهُ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِنْ قَبْلُ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ هَؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِي أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَشِيدٌ [ And his people came rushing towards him, and they had been long in the habit of practicing immorality.  He said : 'O my people! There are my daughters (the girls of the tribe) who are purer for you (so marry them).  Now fear Allah, and let me not get overwhelmed with shame (in front of my) guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded person?']

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 079

قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِي بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ [ They said : 'Surely you know that we have neither any need nor any desire of your daughters (the women of the tribe), and indeed you know well what we want.']

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 080

قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آَوِي إِلَى رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ [ He said, ‘If only I had the power to deter you, or could take refuge in a mighty support!’ ]

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 081

قَالُوا يَا لُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ إِنَّهُ مُصِيبُهَا مَا أَصَابَهُمْ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ أَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ [ O' Loot (عليه السلام) (said the angels), we have indeed been sent by your Lord. They will never be able to harm you. So, leave (your home) late at night with your family, and none of you should turn back to look; but your wife will suffer (what) they are going to suffer. Their hour of doom is in the morning. Is not the morning near?' ]

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 082

فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ مَنْضُودٍ [ So when the decreed moment arrived, We turned the habitations upside down, and rained upon them stones of hardened lava in quick succession, ]

Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 087

قَالُوا يَا شُعَيْبُ أَصَلَاتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ نَتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ آَبَاؤُنَا أَوْ أَنْ نَفْعَلَ فِي أَمْوَالِنَا مَا نَشَاءُ إِنَّكَ لَأَنْتَ الْحَلِيمُ الرَّشِيدُ [ They said : 'O Shuaib (عليه السلام), does your piety teach that we should abandon what our fathers worshiped, or desist from doing what we like with our goods? Juz 12,  Hood, Verse 089

وَيَا قَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِي أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَالِحٍ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِنْكُمْ بِبَعِيدٍ [ And O my people, let not your defiance from me cause you to be struck by that similar to what struck the people of Nooh or the people of Hood or the people of salih (عليهم السلام).
