THE ORIGINATOR

Faatir| Sura # 35| 45 Verses | Makkan

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 024

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَإِنْ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ [ Certainly We have sent you (O' Apostle  ﷺ) with the Truth as a bearer of glad tidings and as a Warner, for there has not been a nation which has not had a Warner.]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 025

وَإِنْ يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَبِالزُّبُرِ وَبِالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ [ If they deny you, so did those before them (who denied their Apostles). Their Apostles came to them with clear proofs, divine Books, and enlightening Scriptures.]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 026

Then I seized the ones who denied the truth, and how (terrible) was My punishment. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 027

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ ثَمَرَاتٍ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهَا وَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌ بِيضٌ وَحُمْرٌ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٌ [ Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky with which We bring forth fruits of various colors? Similarly, in the mountains there are streaks of various shades of rocks, including white, red,  jet-black. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 028

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ وَالدَّوَابِّ وَالْأَنْعَامِ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ كَذَلِكَ إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ غَفُورٌ [ And likewise, men, beasts, and cattle have various colors. It is only those among His servants who have knowledge, fear Allah. Surely, Allah is Almighty, and Most Forgiving. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 029

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْفَقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً يَرْجُونَ تِجَارَةً لَنْ تَبُورَ [ Surely those who recite the Book of Allah,  establish Salah, and do charity from what We have provided them, secretly and openly, expect for a recompense that will never fail. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 030

لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزِيدَهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنَّهُ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ [ He will give them their recompense in full and give them more out of His Grace.  Surely, He is Most Forgiving, and Appreciates (those who are grateful). ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 031

وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِ لَخَبِيرٌ بَصِيرٌ [ The Book We have revealed to you (O Prophet ﷺ) is the truth, confirming what came before it.   Surely Allah is  aware of His servants and Sees every thing. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 032

ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا الْكِتَابَ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ [ Then We gave the book (the Quran) as an inheritance to those of Our servants (Muslims) whom We have chosen.  Among them there are some who wrong their own selves, some of them follow a middle course, and some of them are foremost in good deeds by Allah's blessings. That is the great favor (indeed). ]

The above verse categorizes the Muslims in three groups, as follows.
(i) The people of Iman, but who commit wrong on their own selves (wrongdoers/sinners).

Sin or wrongdoing is related to deeds that are not covered under the purview of Iman.

Faith is an straight forward issue related with our hearts. There is no scope of deviation in it.   It is because, a person who does not have correct faith (Sahih Iman), and acts according to his wrongful/deviant faith that comes under the purview of apostasy / polytheism / hypocrisy / blasphemy, etc.,  then, as per Islamic fiqh,  he is not treated as a Muslim in the first place. Wrongful beliefs of all deviant sects come under this category.

(ii) Those who follow middle course.  Meaning, they are people of Iman but are not  excellent in good deeds.

(iii) The people of Iman who are also foremost in good deeds.   Surely, Awliya Allah are covered in this category.

Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) says that all the above categories of Muslims have been given the Quran as an inheritance.  They are believers and will be treated as such on the day of Resurrection.

As far as believing sinners are concerned, it is for Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) to either forgive or punish them to the extent of their bad deeds. Eventually they will be allowed to enter Paradise by the mediation of Prophet Mohammad
It is in Quran  - قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ [ Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves (by sinning), do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.  Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful. ]  (Az-Zumar - 53)

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 033

جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ [ They will enter the gardens of Eden where they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments will be silk therein. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 034

وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ [ And they will say, 'Praise be to Allah, Who has kept away from us all (causes of) sorrow. Our Lord is indeed All Forgiving, and appreciates those who are grateful.' ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 035

الَّذِي أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ الْمُقَامَةِ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ [ 'He has settled us in the everlasting Home out of His favor, where no weariness or fatigue will touch us.' ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 036

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَهُمْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَمُوتُوا وَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِهَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي كُلَّ كَفُورٍ [ But those who disbelieve, there will be fire of Hell for them. Neither it (fire) will be completed on them so that they die, nor shall its punishment be lightened for them. Thus We do pay back every disbeliever! ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 037

Get us out, (from now) we shall do righteous deeds and shall not repeat that (evil deeds) which we used to do.' (It will be told) : 'Did We not give you lives long enough so that whoever would, could receive warning therein? And the Warner came to you. So taste (the punishment for the evil you did), there is no helper for the wrongdoers.' ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 038

Allah knows all the unseen of the heavens and earth; He (also) knows what is in the hearts.]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 039

هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَائِفَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الْكَافِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا مَقْتًا وَلَا يَزِيدُ الْكَافِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلَّا خَسَارًا [ It is He Who has made you vicegerent on the earth.  (Disregarding this high favor of Allah) Whoever disbelieves, bears the burden of his disbelief; and for the disbelievers their disbelief does not increase anything except the wrath of their Lord.  The disbelievers do not gain anything except that their denial will only contribute to their loss. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 040

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ شُرَكَاءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ أَمْ آَتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَابًا فَهُمْ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِنْهُ بَلْ إِنْ يَعِدُ الظَّالِمُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا  [ Ask them (O Prophet  ﷺ) : 'Have you ever considered about your associate gods,  to whom you call upon besides Allah? Show me anything that they have created in the earth!  Or what is their share in the creation of the heavens? Or have We given them (the disbelievers) a Book from which they derive the provision for shirk? Nay, in fact the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusions. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 041

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ أَنْ تَزُولَا وَلَئِنْ زَالَتَا إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا  [ Allah keeps a firm hold on the heavens and earth, preventing them from vanishing away.   And if they vanished no one could then keep hold of them.   Certainly He is Most Forbearing, Ever-Forgiving. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 042

وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِنْ جَاءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَى مِنْ إِحْدَى الْأُمَمِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا  [ And (before the advent of Prophet Mohammad  ﷺ) they swore by Allah their most binding oath that if a Warner ever come to them, they would be more guided than any of the nations (before them).   (But) when the Warner (the Prophet ﷺ) did come to them, they only turned further away, ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 043

But evil plotting only backfires on those who plot.  Are they awaiting anything but the fate of those (destroyed) before? You will find no change in the way of Allah, nor will you find it diverted (for some people). ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 044

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَلِيمًا قَدِيرًا  [ Have they not traveled through the land to see what was the end of those (who were destroyed) before them? They were far superior in might. But there is nothing that can escape Allah in the heavens or on the earth. He is certainly All Knowing, Most Powerful. ]

Juz 22, Faatir, Verse 045

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا مَا تَرَكَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ وَلَكِنْ يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِ بَصِيرًا  [ If Allah were to punish people (instantly) for what they have committed, He would not have left a single living being on earth.  But He delays them for an appointed term.  And when their time arrives, they surely will realize that Allah is All Seer of His servants. ]
