سورة فصلت

EXPLAINED IN DETAIL

Fussilat| Sura # 41| 54 Verses | Makkan

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 047

No fruit comes out of its husk, nor does a female conceive or deliver without His knowledge. And (consider) the Day He will call to them, 'Where are My (so-called) associate-gods?' They will cry, 'We declare before you that none of us testifies to that (any longer).' ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 048

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَظَنُّوا مَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ [ Whatever (idols) they used to invoke besides Allah will fail them. And they will realize that they will have no escape. ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 049

لَا يَسْأَمُ الْإِنْسَانُ مِنْ دُعَاءِ الْخَيْرِ وَإِنْ مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَئُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ [ People don’t get tired of asking good (things from Allah), but if an evil touches them, they give up all hope and are lost in despair. ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 050

وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَاهُ رَحْمَةً مِنَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَذَا لِي وَمَا أَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَائِمَةً وَلَئِنْ رُجِعْتُ إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّ لِي عِنْدَهُ لَلْحُسْنَى فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْ مِنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ [ And if We let them taste a mercy from Us after being touched with adversity, they will certainly say, 'This is what I deserve. I do not think the Hour will (ever) come. And if in fact I am returned to my Lord, the finest reward with Him will definitely be mine.'  But We will surely inform the disbelievers of what they used to do. And We will certainly make them taste a harsh torment. ]

The reasons for such assertions are the result of the disbelievers' worldly wealth and affluence.  They think that their prosperity  is the testimony that they are on the right path.  This is the reason they think even if there is a world of Resurrection, they will be rewarded with bounties there as well,   as they are rewarded in this world.  Similar is the state of the followers of deviant sects who claim that their prosperity in this world is the sign that they are on the right path of Islam.

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 051

وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَى بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ [ When We show favor to a person, he withdraws and turns away; but when evil touches the (same) person, then he has long supplications. ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 052

قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُمْ بِهِ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ [ (O' Prophet  ﷺ), ask them : 'Have you ever considered : if this Quran is really from Allah and you deny it, who can be more astray than you,  who have gone too far in defying Him?' ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 053

سَنُرِيهِمْ آَيَاتِنَا فِي الْآَفَاقِ وَفِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ  [ We will show them Our signs on the horizons and in themselves, until it is clear to them that this is the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is a Witness over all things? ]

Juz 25, Fussilat, Verse 054

أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِمْ أَلَا إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُحِيطٌ [ In truth they are in doubt that they will ever face their Lord. Do they not know that He encompasses all things? ]

CONSULTATION

Ash-Shura| Sura # 42| 53 Verses | Makkan

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 001

حم  [ Ha-meem ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 002

عسق  [ Ain-Seen-Qaaf   ]

'Ha-meem' and 'Ain-Seen-Qaaf'  are known as ‘Solemn Verses' (Ayaat-e-Muqatta'at - آیاتِ مقطعات).

Fourteen Arabic alphabets have been used, in varied combinations,  in  14 ‘Solemn Verses' (Ayaat-e-Muqatta'at - آیاتِ مقطعات) in the form of initials  of  29 Chapters (سورة) of holy Quran.   Ha-meem ( حم ) and  Ain-Seen-Qaaf (عسق)  are from them.

Since Quran is 'Mubeen' (الْمُبِينِ);  its description is clear and manifest. The meanings of all the verses of Quran, including  'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) are surely known to its principle addressee, ie., Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  It is also likely that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has informed the meanings of these Verses to some of his Sahabah and  Awliya Allah.

We believe  in whatever is meant by the 'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) by Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

Since we have been commanded to read the Quran carefully and try to understand the significance of every verse of the Quran, we do ponder over these verses.  And when we think, by focusing our attention towards Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) for guidance,  it comes to our mind that the 'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) are actually the 'Solemn Titles of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) given by Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) throughout the Quran.  Our understanding is based on the fact that Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) has addressed Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) in the Quran by specific names, like Muzzammil (مزمل - O' beloved who covers self  in a coverlet), Muddassir (مدثر  -  O' beloved, who covers self in a bed sheet).  With this understanding, it is most likely that  Prophet’s (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) other names / titles  have been mentioned in Quran  by denoting certain initials/alphabets.

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 003

كَذَلِكَ يُوحِي إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ [ Thus, Allah, the All Mighty, the All-Wise sends His revelation to you, (O' Prophet  ﷺ), as He sent to other Apostles before you. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 004

لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ [ To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. He is the Most High and Great. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 005

تَكَادُ السَّمَوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِنَّ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ [ (In submission and in  awe of Him) the skies nearly burst apart, one above the other. And the angels glorify the praises of their Lord (incessantly), and seek forgiveness for those on earth.   Surely Allah alone is the All Forgiving, Most Merciful.]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 006

وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَولِيَاءَ اللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَكِيلٍ [ Those who have taken protectors other than Him, are watched over by Allah. And (O' Prophet  ﷺ  ignore them). You are not a trustee over them.   ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 007

وَكَذَلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ قُرْآَنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِتُنْذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَى وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنْذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ [ Thus We have revealed to you (O' Prophet ﷺ) this Quran in Arabic so that you may warn the residents of the mother of cities (Makkah) and whoever is around it. Warn them of the Day of Assembling;  there is no doubt about it; when a group (believers) will go to Paradise and a group (disbelievers, will be thrown) in the blazing fire.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 008

وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَكِنْ يُدْخِلُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمُونَ مَا لَهُمْ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ [ If Allah had willed, He would have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. The wrongdoers will not have any protector or helper.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 009

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحْيِي الْمَوْتَى وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ [ How can they take protectors besides Him? Allah alone is the Protector. He (alone) gives life to the dead. He has power over all the things.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 010

وَمَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ [ (O' Prophet  ﷺ), tell them : Whatever the subject of your dispute is, its Judgment belongs to Allah. Such is Allah,  My Lord, in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn in repentance,  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 011

فَاطِرُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَمِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ أَزْوَاجًا يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ [ (He is) the Originator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you spouses from among yourselves, and (made) mates for cattle (as well), multiplying you (both). There is nothing like Him.  He is the All Hearing, All Seeing.   ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 012

لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ [ To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He gives abundantly to whom He pleases and sparingly to whom He wills. He is the Knower of all things.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 013

شَرَعَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّى بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ يُنِيبُ [ He has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nooh (عليه السلام), and which He has revealed to you (O' Prophet  ﷺ), and which He ordained for Ibrahim, Musa and Isa (عليهم السلام) (enjoining) : 'You should uphold the faith, and not get divided into (sects).'  What you call the polytheists to,  is unbearable for them.  Allah chooses for Himself whoever He wills, and guides to Himself whoever turns (to Him).  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 014

وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكَ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْهُ مُرِيبٍ [ They were not divided till after knowledge had come to them through selfish transgressions among themselves. Had it not been for a word (to defer punishment), that went forth before from your Lord  for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them.   Surely, those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them,  are in serious doubt concerning it (the Quran).   ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 015

فَلِذَلِكَ فَادْعُ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَقُلْ آَمَنْتُ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ كِتَابٍ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ [ Therefore, call them to Islam, stay firm on the right path as you are commanded,  and do not follow their vain desires. Tell them : 'I believe in whatever Allah has revealed from the Book and I am commanded to do justice between you. Allah is Our Lord and your Lord.  We are responsible for Our deeds,  and you for yours. Let there be no dispute among us. Allah will bring us all together on the Day of Judgment and decide as to who is right and who is wrong, and to Him is the final return. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 016

[Those who dispute concerning Allah after accepting (obedience) to Him, their dispute is futile in the sight of their Lord, on them is the wrath (of Allah), and for them there will be a severe punishment. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 017

اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ [ It is Allah Who has revealed the Book with the truth, and truthful religion, and trustworthy Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). You never know, perhaps the Hour is near. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 018

يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا وَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ أَلَا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ [ Only they who do not believe in it (Resurrection) wish to hasten it;  but those who believe,  are in fear of it, for they know it to be true.  Surely those who are in doubt about the Hour (of Judgement) are wandering far astray. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 019

اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ [ Allah is gracious to His servants, and bestows favors on whosoever He wills. He is Omnipotent Almighty.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 020

مَنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآَخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآَخِرَةِ مِنْ نَصِيبٍ [ Whoever desires the fruits of the Hereafter, We shall add to his fruit. As for him who desires the fruits of this world, We shall give him of these, but he will have no share in the Hereafter.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 021

أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُمْ مِنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَنْ بِهِ اللَّهُ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةُ الْفَصْلِ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ [ Or do they have partners (of Allah), who have instituted for them (wrongful things) in religion which Allah has not allowed?   Had it not been a decisive word (the Day of Judgment), the matter would have been judged between them? Surely, for the wrongdoers, there is a painful punishment.  ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 022

تَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ وَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ [ You will see (on the Day of Judgement) that the wrongdoers will fear for what they have earned, and it (the punishment) will befall them. While those who believe and do righteous deeds will be in the flowering meadows of the gardens (Paradise) and will receive for them what they wish from their Lord. That is (truly) the greatest bounty. ]

Juz 25, Ash-Shura, Verse 023

ذَلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى وَمَنْ يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَزِدْ لَهُ فِيهَا حُسْنًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ  [ Such a blessing is the good news which Allah gives to His servants who believe and do good deeds. (O Prophet  ﷺ), say to them : 'I do not ask you any recompense except your love for my  close relatives (Ahl-e-Bait -  رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين)'.  He who does a good deed shall be repaid many times over.   Surely Allah is All Forgiving, Most Appreciative.  ]

The love of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and his Ahle-Bait-e-At-Haar is part of Iman.
It is in Quran - النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ  [ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has a more right on the believers than  their own selves, and his wives are their mothers.]  (Al-Ahzab - 6)
Two important things have been mentioned in the above verse, as follows.
(i)  The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has a more right on the believers than  their own selves.

(ii) The wives of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) are the mothers of the believers.
What is the meaning of  'the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has more right on the believers than their own selves.?'

It means that believers should love the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) more than their own selves.  His decision in collective and individual issues of the believers are binding upon them even if they are unable to comprehend it.
(i) It is in Quran - يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَا تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ [ O' Believers, obey Allah and His Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and do not turn from him while you hear (his order). (Al-Anfaal - 20)
(ii) It is in Hadith -  It is narrated on the authority of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind. (Bukhari)

(ii) It is in Hadith -  It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Hisham (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)  that he said : We were with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and he was holding the hand of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ). 'Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said to Him, O' Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) you are dearer to me than everything except my own self.'  The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, 'No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete Iman) till I am dearer to you than your own self.' Then Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said to him, 'However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my own self.'  The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, 'Now, O' Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ)  (you are a true believer). (Bukhari)

(iii) It is in Hadith -  It is narrated on the authority of Anas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) that :  A man asked the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) about the Hour,  saying, 'When will the Hour be?' The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said : 'What have you prepared for it?'  The man said, 'nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, 'You will be with those whom you love.'  (Anasؓ  continued) We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  Therefore, I love the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), Abu Bakr (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) and 'Umar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them,  though my deeds are not similar to theirs.  (Bukhari)

What is the meaning of 'the wives of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) are the mothers of the believers?'

It means that the love and respect of Ummaha-tul-Momineen (امهات المومنين رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين) has to be more than the love of the biological mothers of the believers and it is an indication and fulfillment of your love of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).
It is in Hadith  - 'The (believing) mother is in the middle of the doors of Paradise.' (Ahmed)

It is in Hadith  - The Paradise is under the feet of (the believing)  mothers. (Nasai)

Similarly, love of other members of the Ahle Bait-e-At haar (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين), is a requirement and an indication and fulfillment of your love of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).
It is in Hadith - Safiyyah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) the daughter of Shaybah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrates that Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) said  that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) came out one morning wearing a cloak which had camel saddles woven on to it with black wool. Then Hasan Ibn Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) came and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) took him under the cloak, then Husain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) came and entered beneath it with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  Then Fatimah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا) came and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) took her under the cloak.  Next Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) came and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) also included him beneath it. Then the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) recited the verse - إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا [ O' members of the (Prophet’s  ﷺ) family (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين), Allah only intends to keep (the causes of) evil away from you and purify you completely. It is in Hadith -  Umar bin Abi Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) who was brought up by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) narrates that when the verseإِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا [ O' members of the (Prophet’s  ﷺ) family (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين), Allah only intends to keep (the causes of) evil away from you and purify you completely.] (al-Ahzaab - 33)  was revealed to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) at the home of Ummul Momineen Umm Salamah (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہا), he called Fatimah, Hasan and Husain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم) and covered them with a cloak. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) also covered Ali (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) who was behind him and then said, 'Oh Allah! These are my Ahle Baith so keep impurity away from them and totally purify them.

The above Ahadith confirm that, in addition to Ummaha-tul-Momineen,  Hadhrat Ali, Fatima, Hassan and Hussain (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين)  are  included in the Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) household.

There are some references that include, Aqil, Jafar, Abbas and Salman Farsi (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم) within the purview of the household of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).

You cannot claim your love for Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) while you accuse, abuse or blame any member of Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) house hold like the way Shias, Salafis, Deobandis, Ahle-Hadith, Kharijis and their like minded groups do.

Shias wrongfully claim that Ummaha-tul-Momineen (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم) are not part of the Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) household.  This kind of belief is denial of Quranic verses and Ahadith.
