JUZ 25.8  ILAYHI YURADDU  (إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ)

سورة الجاثية

Al-Jaathiya| Sura # 45| 37 Verses | Makkan

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 001
حم  [ Ha-meem ]
'Ha-meem'  is known as ‘Solemn Verse' (Ayat-e-Muqatta'at - آیتِ مقطعات).
Fourteen Arabic alphabets have been used, in varied combinations,  in  14 ‘Solemn Verses' (Ayaat-e-Muqatta'at - آیاتِ مقطعات) in the form of initials  of  29 Chapters (سورة) of holy Quran.   Ha-meem ( حم )  is one of them.
Since Quran is 'Mubeen' (الْمُبِينِ);  its description is clear and manifest. The meanings of all the verses of Quran, including  'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) are surely known to its principle addressee, ie., Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  It is also likely that Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has informed the meanings of these Verses to some of his Sahabah and  Awliya Allah.
We believe  in whatever is meant by the 'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) by Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).
Since we have been commanded to read the Quran carefully and try to understand the significance of every verse of the Quran, we do ponder over these verses.  And when we think, by focusing our attention towards Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) and His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) for guidance,  it comes to our mind that the 'Solemn Verses' (آیاتِ مقطعات) are actually the 'Solemn Titles of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) given by Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) throughout the Quran.  Our understanding is based on the fact that Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) has addressed Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) in the Quran by specific names, like Muzzammil (مزمل - O' beloved who covers self  in a coverlet), Muddassir (مدثر  -  O' beloved, who covers self in a bed sheet).  With this understanding, it is most likely that  Prophet’s (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) other names / titles  have been mentioned in Quran  by denoting certain initials/alphabets.

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 002
تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ [ The revelation of this Book (the Quran) is from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 003
إِنَّ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآَيَاتٍ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ [ Surely, in  the heavens and the earth there are signs for the believers.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 004
وَفِي خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِنْ دَابَّةٍ آَيَاتٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ [ In your own creation (as human beings) and that of (other) moving creatures which He has scattered (throughout the earth), there are signs for people who have faith,]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 005
وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِنْ رِزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ آَيَاتٌ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ [ And (in) the alternation of the day and the night, the provision sent down from the skies by Allah, reviving the earth after its death, and the shifting of the winds, are signs for people who understand. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 006
تِلْكَ آَيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَآَيَاتِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ [ These are the revelations of Allah, which We recite to you (O' Prophet  ﷺ) with truth. If they deny Allah and His revelations, then what message will they believe in? ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 007
وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ [ Woe to every sinful liar. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 008
يَسْمَعُ آَيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ [ (Misery to) the one who hears the verses of Allah being recited before him, yet acts like he has not heard them.  Arrogantly, he insists (upon his own notions).  To such a person, give the news of an agonizing torment. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 009
وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنْ آَيَاتِنَا شَيْئًا اتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ [ And when he does learn about some of Our verses, he ridicules them. Such people will have a humiliating punishment. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 010
Nothing they have earned will be of any use to them, nor will those (idols) they have adopted as protectors instead of Allah. They will have a great punishment. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 011
هَذَا هُدًى وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآَيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِنْ رِجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ [ This is guidance. Those who deny the revelations of their Lord will suffer a dreadful punishment. ]
Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 012
اللَّهُ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ فِيهِ بِأَمْرِهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ [ It is Allah who subjected the ocean for you so that ships may sail through it by His command, and you may seek His bounty, and may perhaps be grateful. ]
Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 013
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِنْهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآَيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ  [ And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; all from Him.  Surely, there are signs for those people who reflect. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 014
قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا يَغْفِرُوا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ أَيَّامَ اللَّهِ لِيَجْزِيَ قَوْمًا بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ  [ (O' Prophet  ﷺ), tell the believers to forgive those who do not fear Allah’s days (of torment), so that He will reward each group for what they used to commit. ]
It is required to convey the message of truth to the disbelievers.  If they do not believe and reject the faith and show fearlessness of the life after death or the day of Resurrection, the only course of action is to ignore  and forgive them for their insistence on disbelieve, leaving it to Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) who will recompense each group as per their deeds.

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 015
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ  [ Whoever does a good deed, it is for his own self; and whoever does evil, it is against his (own self). Then you (all) will be made to return to your Lord. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 016
وَلَقَدْ آَتَيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ  [ Indeed, We gave the Children of Israel the Scripture, wisdom, and prophet-hood; granted them good lawful provisions; and favored them above the others (earlier). ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 017
وَآَتَيْنَاهُمْ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوا إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ  [ And We gave them clear proofs in the matter (of religion). And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them out of jealousy and animosity (between various groups) among them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 018
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ  [ Now We have put you (O' believers) on the Right Path  concerning the religion (of Islam), so follow it, and do not yield to the desires of ignorant people;]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 019
إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُغْنُوا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ  [ They shall not be able to help you (O' believers) a bit against Allah. Indeed, the evildoers are each other´s friends and patrons, and Allah is the friend of the righteous.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 020
هَذَا بَصَائِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ  [ This (Quran) is an insight for all mankind, the source of guidance and grace for the nation who believes with certainty.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 021
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهُمْ كَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَوَاءً مَحْيَاهُمْ وَمَمَاتُهُمْ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ  [ Or do those evil doers think that We shall make them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgment that they make! ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 022
وَخَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَلِتُجْزَى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ  [ Allah has created the heavens and the earth to manifest the truth, and to reward each one according to its deeds, and none of them shall be wronged. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 023
أَفَرَأَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَهَهُ هَوَاهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ وَخَتَمَ عَلَى سَمْعِهِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَجَعَلَ عَلَى بَصَرِهِ غِشَاوَةً فَمَنْ يَهْدِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ اللَّهِ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ  [ Have you seen (O Prophet  ﷺ) those who have taken their own desires as their god? (And so) Allah left them to stray knowingly, sealed their hearing and hearts, and placed a cover on their sight. Who then can guide them after Allah? Will you (all) not then be mindful? ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 024
وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ وَمَا لَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ  [ And they argue, 'There is nothing beyond our worldly life. We die; others are born. And nothing destroys us but (the passage of) time.'  Yet they have no knowledge (in support) of this (claim). They only speculate. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 025
وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آَيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ مَا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا ائْتُوا بِآَبَائِنَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ  [ When Our clear revelations are recited to them, they have no other argument but to say, 'Bring our forefathers back, if what you say is true!' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 026
قُلِ اللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ   [ Say, 'Allah gives you life, and then He gives you death; and again, He will assemble you on the day of resurrection. No doubt about it! But most people do not know.' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 027
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ الْمُبْطِلُونَ  [ To Allah belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. On that Day when the Hour of Judgment will be established, those who have denied His revelations shall be doomed to loss. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 028
وَتَرَى كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَى إِلَى كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ  [ And you will see every nation humbled to its knees. Each nation will be called to its Record (of deeds). (It will be said) : 'This Day you shall be recompensed for what you used to do.' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 029
هَذَا كِتَابُنَا يَنْطِقُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنْسِخُ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ  [ (It will be said to them) 'This is Our record (prepared for you), it speaks about you in Truth. We were recording what You have been doing.' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 030
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُدْخِلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْمُبِينُ  [ As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the manifest success! ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 031
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ آَيَاتِي تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا مُجْرِمِينَ  [ But as for those who disbelieved (it will be said to them) : 'Were not Our Revelations recited to you?  But you were proud and became a nation of criminals.' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 032
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُمْ مَا نَدْرِي مَا السَّاعَةُ إِنْ نَظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ  [ When it was said (to you O' disbelievers), 'the promise of Allah is true and the Hour of Judgment is sure to come, you used to say, We don’t know what the Hour of Judgment is : we think it is just a conjecture, we are not convinced.' ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 033
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ  [ The evil of their deeds will  become apparent to them (on the day of Judgement). That, which they (now) ridicule, (will come back to haunt them and) will surround them. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 034
مَوَقِيلَ الْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ  [ ( It will be said (to them) 'Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours!   Hell fire will be your home and none will be there to help you.]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 035
ذَلِكُمْ بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذْتُمْ آَيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ [ This is because you made a mockery of Allah’s revelations, and were deluded by (your) worldly life.'   So (from) that Day (on) they will not be taken out of the Fire, and they will no longer have the opportunity to repent. ]

Juz 25, Al-Jaathiya, Verse 037
وَلَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ [ And to Him belongs the Majesty in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Almighty, All Wise. ]
