سورة محمد

Mohammad| Sura # 47| 38 Verses | Madinan

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful

Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 001
الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ  [ Those who disbelieve and hinder (others) from the Way of Allah, He will render their deeds void.]

Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 002
وَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَآَمَنُوا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ [ As for those who believe and do good deeds and believe in what is revealed to (Prophet) Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), the truth from their Lord,  He will remove from them their sins and improve their condition. ]
Every single verse of the Quran is addressed to Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) or addressed to the people via the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).
However, his name Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has been mentioned in Quran in 4 verses, (i) Aal-e-Imran - 144, (ii) Al-Ahzaab - 40, (iii) Mohammad - 2, and (iv) Al-Fath - 29.
In addition, in verse 6, Surah As-Saff, his name 'Ahmed' (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has been mentioned..
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 003
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَالَهُمْ [ That is because the disbelievers follow falsehood, whereas the believers follow the truth from their Lord! Thus Allah cites their examples for the people. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 004
فَإِذا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَثْخَنْتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً حَتَّى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَانْتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَكِنْ لِيَبْلُوَ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْضٍ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَنْ يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ  [ So when you meet the disbelievers (in battle), strike (their) necks until you have thoroughly subdued them, then (to the prisoners of war) bind them firmly.  Later (free them either as) an act of grace or by ransom until the war comes to an end. So will it be. Had Allah willed, He (Himself) could have inflicted punishment on them. But He does (this to) test some of you by means of others. And those who are martyred in the cause of Allah, He will never render their deeds void. ]
The above is the verse giving permission for Jihad, fighting against the infidels who were creating strife in the land and who were plotting to eliminate Islam.  This verse seems++ to have been revealed before the Battle of Badr.
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 005
سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْ  [ Soon He will guide them and improve their condition, ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 006
وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ [ and He will admit them to Paradise, which He has already made known to them. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 007
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ [ O you who believe, if you help (in the cause of) Allah,  He will surely come to your aid, and firmly plant your feet. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 008
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَتَعْسًا لَهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ  [ But those who disbelieve, there is destruction for them, and (Allah) will make their deeds vain. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 009
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ  [ That is because they detest what Allah has revealed, so He has rendered their deeds void. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 010
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ دَمَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ أَمْثَالُهَا [ Have they not traveled through the land and seen the fate of those before them? Allah destroyed them, and a similar fate awaits all those who persist on denying the truth. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 011
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَأَنَّ الْكَافِرِينَ لَا مَوْلَى لَهُمْ [ That is because Allah is the protector of those who believe while those who deny the truth have no protector. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 012
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأْكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الْأَنْعَامُ وَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَهُمْ [ Allah will admit those who have believed and done good deeds to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath them. While those who disbelieved, who enjoyed themselves (in this world), and eat like cattle, the Fire will be their final abode. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 013
وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ أَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَتْكَ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ [ How many towns which were mightier than your town (Makka), that have driven you out, We destroyed for their disbelief, and there was none to save them? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 014
أَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ [ Can he who follows the clear guidance from his Lord, be compared to him,  who is led by his own desires and whose foul deeds seem attractive to him? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 015
مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ فِيهَا أَنْهَارٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ غَيْرِ آَسِنٍ وَأَنْهَارٌ مِنْ لَبَنٍ لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُ وَأَنْهَارٌ مِنْ خَمْرٍ لَذَّةٍ لِلشَّارِبِينَ وَأَنْهَارٌ مِنْ عَسَلٍ مُصَفًّى وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَالِدٌ فِي النَّارِ وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ [ Here is the parable of the paradise which the righteous have been promised: it has rivers, the water of which will never be stagnant, rivers of milk whose taste never changes, rivers of wine (of Allah's compassion) delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey pure and clear.  In it they will have all kinds of fruits, as well as forgiveness from their Lord. Can such people be compared to those who shall dwell in Hell forever, and they will be given boiling water which will cut their intestines into pieces? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 016
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ آَنِفًا أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ [ Among them (the people of Madinah) are some who (come to) listen to you, but when they go out from your presence, they ask (mockingly) those who have been given (some) knowledge, 'What has he said just now?'  Those are they,  whose hearts Allah has sealed, and who follow their lusts and fancies. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 017
وَالَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَآَتَاهُمْ تَقْوَاهُمْ [ And those who attained the right path, Allah increases guidance for them and grows them in their piety.]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 018
فَهَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا السَّاعَةَ أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا فَأَنَّى لَهُمْ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَاهُمْ [ Are they only waiting for the Hour to take them by surprise? Yet (some of) its signs have already come.  Once it actually befalls them, will it not be too late (for them) to be mindful? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 019
فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوَاكُمْ [ Therefore (tell the people O' Prophet ﷺ to) know that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and (since you represent your Ummah) seek the forgiveness of sins (on their behalf) of believing men and women; and  Allah knows your (peoples') movements during the day and resting during the night.]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 020
وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَإِذَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ مُحْكَمَةٌ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا الْقِتَالُ رَأَيْتَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ الْمَغْشِيِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِ فَأَوْلَى لَهُمْ [ Those who believe say : 'Why is not a Surah  sent down (to allow us to fight)? But when a decisive Surah is sent down and fighting (in Allah’s Cause) is mentioned in it, you will see those in whose hearts is the disease (of hypocrisy), looking at you with a look of one fainting to death. That is, in fact, what is expected of them!]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 021
طَاعَةٌ وَقَوْلٌ مَعْرُوفٌ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ [ On their tongues is the promise of obedience and good talk, so if they would have proved their promise with Allah when the final command was given, it would have been better for them. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 022
فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ [ (O' you, who are afraid of Jihad  and  are hypocrites) what can be expected of you if you are put in authority, other than to do evil in the land and violate the ties of blood. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 023
أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ [ They are those who were condemned by Allah, whose ears were blocked by Him and their eyes blinded.]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 024
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآَنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا [ Will they not ponder over the Quran? Or, are there locks upon their hearts? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 025
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ارْتَدُّوا عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى الشَّيْطَانُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ وَأَمْلَى لَهُمْ [ Surely, those who have turned back as apostates after (Allah’s) guidance has become clear to them, Satan has seduced them; he has implanted in them long-term worldly ambitions.]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 026
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَمْرِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ [ That is because they say to those who hate Allah´s revelation, 'In some matters we will follow you.' Allah is well aware of their secret conversations!]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 027
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ [ Then what will they do when the angels will take their souls at the time of their death, striking their faces and their backs? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 028
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوا مَا أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا رِضْوَانَهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ [ That is because they pursued what displeases Allah and hated what pleases Him. So He rendered their deeds worthless. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 029
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ أَنْ لَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ أَضْغَانَهُمْ [ Do they, whose hearts are filled with doubt, think that Allah will not expose their malice? ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 030
وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ [ Had We willed, We would have truly shown them to you (O Prophet  ﷺ), and you would have certainly recognized them by their appearance. But you will surely recognize them by their tone of speech. (O' People) Allah is aware of what you do.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 031
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَاْ أَخْبَارَكُمْ [ We will test you, until We know those who strive among you, and those who are patient, and We will test the sincerity of your assertions.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 032
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَشَاقُّوا الرَّسُولَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئًا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ [ Those who disbelieve, bar others from Allah’s path, and oppose the Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) when they have been shown guidance, cannot harm Allah in any way. He will make their deeds void.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 033
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوا أَعْمَالَكُمْ [ O you who believe, obey Allah and the Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), and do not waste your deeds.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 034
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ [ The unbelievers who turn others away from the path of Allah and then die while they are unbelievers, Allah will not forgive them.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 035
فَلَا تَهِنُوا وَتَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ [ Therefore, (O' Believers)  do not be fainthearted crying for peace, for you will surely gain the upper hand. Allah is on your side and will never let your deeds be wasted. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 036
إِنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَإِنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْأَلْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ [ The life of this world is but play and pastime. But if you believe and fear Allah, and avoid evil, He will grant you your reward, and will not ask you your wealth. ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 037
إِنْ يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ [ If He asks you for this wealth and puts you under strain for that, you will feel constrained and become miserly. And this way, you will get exposed of your (suppressed) resentments.  ]
Juz 26, Mohammad, Verse 038
هَاأَنْتُمْ هَؤُلَاءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يَبْخَلُ وَمَنْ يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ وَاللَّهُ الْغَنِيُّ وَأَنْتُمُ الْفُقَرَاءُ وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ [ Here you are being invited to donate (a little) in the cause of Allah.   Still some of you withhold. And whoever does so, it is only to their own loss. For Allah is the Self-Sufficient, whereas you stand in need (of Him). If you (still) turn away, He will replace you with another people. And they will not be like you.  ]
