THE INNER APARTMENTS

Al-Hujuraat| Sura # 49| 18 Verses | Madinan

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 001

Do not proceed (in any matter) before (a decree from) Allah and His Apostle And fear Allah. Surely Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 002

Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), nor speak aloud when talking to him as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds should come to nothing while you do not even perceive it.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 003

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَى لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ [ Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) are the ones whose hearts Allah has refined for righteousness.   They will have forgiveness and a great reward.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 004

Surely! Those who call you  from behind the residences, most of them have no common sense.]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 005

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا حَتَّى تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ [ If only they had patience until you could come out to them, it would certainly be better for them. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.  ]

In the above verses Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) is teaching the etiquette to Muslims and commanding them how to respect the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).  When they go to the Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) house, they don't need to call him to tell him that they are standing there outside because he knows of their presence out there.  They need to be patient as he himself will come out to talk to them.

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 006

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَأٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَنْ تُصِيبُوا قَوْمًا بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَادِمِينَ [ O' believers, if an evildoer brings you any news, verify (it) so you do not harm people unknowingly, becoming regretful for what you have done.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 007

If he were to follow you in most affairs, you would certainly be in trouble. Allah has endeared this faith to you and beautified it in your hearts, making unbelief, wrongdoing, and disobedience abhorrent to you. It is they who are rightly guided.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 008

(This is) a bounty and a blessing from Allah. And Allah is All Knowing, All Wise.   ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 009

وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا فَإِنْ بَغَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَى فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِي تَبْغِي حَتَّى تَفِيءَ إِلَى أَمْرِ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ فَاءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ [ And if two groups of believers fight each other, then make peace between them. But if one of them transgresses against the other, then fight against the transgressing group until they (are willing to) submit to the rule of Allah. If they do so, then make peace between both (groups) in all fairness and act justly.  Surely Allah loves those who uphold justice.   ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 010

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ [ The believers are brothers (in Islam). So make reconciliation between your brothers and fear Allah, so that you may receive mercy.   ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 011

Nor shall any women ridicule other women, for they may be better than them. Nor shall you slander one another, nor shall you call each other names. How bad it is to be called disobedient after accepting faith! Those who do not repent of this behavior are unjust.   ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 012

Avoid many suspicions, (for) indeed, some suspicions are sinful. And do not spy, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of their dead brother?  You would despise that! And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is the one who Accepts repentance, and is Merciful.  ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 013

Surely We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Surely, the most honorable of you with Allah is the most pious of you.  Surely, Allah is All Knower, All Aware. ]

In Islam, the standard of greatness is not money, power, status or family background. The standard of honor in Islam is virtue (Taqwa).  This is the reason Awliya Allah are respected in Muslims.

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 014

Say, (O Prophet  ﷺ), 'You have not believed. But say, 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) (wholeheartedly), He will not discount anything from (the reward of) your deeds. Allah is truly All Forgiving, Most Merciful. ]

The Iman is to believe in heart about Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ), His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and the teachings of Islam as a whole. Islam is to submit to Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ), His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and to the teachings of Islam.

What is the meaning of 'Iman to enter the heart'?  It means that you have developed the love of Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ), His Apostle Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) to an extent that you are able to sacrifice everything in life to gain their favor.

For Iman to enter into heart, it is important to learn Islam under the guidance of a Sahih-ul-Aqeedah Ahle Sunnah Shaikh of Ihsan so that he helps you to remain on the right path of Islam.

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 015

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ [ The believers are those who believe in Allah and His Apostle (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), leave all doubts behind, and strive with their wealth and their persons for Allah's cause. Those are the ones who are true to their word. ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 016

قُلْ أَتُعَلِّمُونَ اللَّهَ بِدِينِكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ [ (O' Prophet  ﷺ) say to those who claim to have believed : 'Do you apprise Allah of your religion?  Whereas, Allah knows all that is in the heavens and the earth and He has full knowledge of everything.' ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 017

يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا قُلْ لَا تَمُنُّوا عَلَيَّ إِسْلَامَكُمْ بَلِ اللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَاكُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ [ They consider it a favor to you that they have submitted. Say, 'Do not consider your submission a favor to me; it is Allah who has done you a favor, by guiding you to faith, if you are truly sincere.' ]

Juz 26, Al-Hujuraat, Verse 018

Surely Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and earth. And Allah is All Seeing of what you do.' ]
