سورة الفجر

THE DAWN
 

Al-Fajr| Sura # 89| 30 Verses | Makkan

 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ 

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful
 
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 001
 
وَالْفَجْرِ   [ (I swear) by the dawn, ]
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 002
 
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ   [ and the (first) ten nights (of Dhul-Hijja), ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 003
 
وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ  [ and (by) the even (number) and the odd, ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Al-Fajr, Verse 004
 
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ  [ and by the night when it departs! ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 005
 
هَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِذِي حِجْرٍ  [ Is there not in these  an oath (enough evidence) for those who use their common sense? ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 006
 
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ  [ Have you (O' Prophet  ﷺ) not seen how your Lord dealt with (the people of) Aad? ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 007
 
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ  [ (And) the residents of Iram, the city of lofty pillars, ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 008
 
الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ  [ Such that the likes of them had never been raised in other cities. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 009
 
وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ  [ And Thamûd who carved (their homes in) the rocks in the (Stone) Valley. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 010
 
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ  [And with the Pharaoh, who had formidable strongholds? ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 011
 
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ [All of them committed excesses in their lands, ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 012
 
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ [ and spread corruption there in. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 013
 
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ [ So, your Lord afflicted them with torment. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 014
 
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ  [ Surely your Lord is ever watchful. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 015
 
فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ  [ Such is man! When his Lord puts him through a test by granting him honor and a life of ease, he says, 'My Lord has honored me!' ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 016
 
وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ  [ And when His Lord tests him by restricting his means of livelihood, he says, 'My Lord has disgraced me!' ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 017
 
كَلَّا بَل لَا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ  [ Absolutely not! In fact, you (O' People) are not (even) gracious to an orphan, ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 018
 
وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ [ nor do you encourage each other in feeding the poor! ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 019
 
وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَمًّا [ Greedily, you (misappropriate and) devour the inheritance ( of the weak, the widows and the orphans), ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 020
 
وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا  [ and you love wealth with all your hearts. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 021
 
كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا [ No, indeed! When the earth is crushed, pounded and crushed. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 022
 
وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا [ And your Lord (Tajalli-e-Elahi) comes along with angels ranked in rows. ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 023
 
وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ وَأَنَّى لَهُ الذِّكْرَى [ And Hell is brought forth on that Day. This is when every (disbelieving) person will remember (their sins). But what is the use of remembering then? ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 024
 
يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي [ The (disbeliever) will cry, 'I wish I had sent forth (something good) for my (after) life.' ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 025
 
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ [ No one can punish (the deniers as severely) as Allah will, that day! ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 026
 
وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ [ And none will shackle as severely as Allah shackles (the deniers that day). ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 027
 
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ [ (The righteous would be told), 'O Satisfied Self',   ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 028
 
ارْجِعِي إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً [ return to your Lord, well pleased (with Him) and well pleasing (to Him),   ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 029
 
فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي [ 'join My (honored) servants!,   ]
 
 
Juz 30, Al-Fajr, Verse 030
 
وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي [ and enter My Paradise.' ]
