Al-An'aam | Sura # 6| 165 verses | Makkan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 111
وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ الْمَوْتَى وَحَشَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ قُبُلًا مَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَجْهَلُونَ [ Even if We send down the angels to them, and the dead speak to them, and We gather all things before their eyes, they will not believe, unless Allah wills, for most of them are ignorant. ]The above verse signifies that Hidaya is Allah's (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) hands. Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) knows about His creatures before their coming into external existence. He knew cow as cow, elephant as elephant and He also knows who will accept Hidaya and who will not.The meaning of "unless Allah wills" (إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ) are, Allah's (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) 'willingness' is as per the nature of the person. Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) will not force a good nature man to steal. If the person is good, he will accept the Hidaya, if not he will reject it. Evidences and Proves to an ill natured person in this context does not make any difference.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 112وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ [ That is how We have made for each Apostle opponents, the devils among men and jinns, who inspire one another with deceitful talk. But if your Lord had willed they would not have done so. Pay no attention to them and to what they fabricate. ]
Every one who is born in this world is destined to do a certain work. It is important to know the complexity of this world. The bigger the person in virtue, the bigger will be his troubles and bigger will be his enemies in both human and jinns. The conflict of evil and virtue in this world makes it a testing place. The winners are awarded with paradise, and the losers get the retribution of their evil deeds in the form of burning Hell Fire.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 113وَلِتَصْغَى إِلَيْهِ أَفْئِدَةُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآَخِرَةِ وَلِيَرْضَوْهُ وَلِيَقْتَرِفُوا مَا هُمْ مُقْتَرِفُونَ [ And so the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter will incline toward it (devils) and that they will be satisfied with it and earn the sins which they are to earn. ]
The evil person will surely be inclined to do evil deeds. He will surely feel happy to be in association with devils and will feel satisfied in their company.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 114أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْتَغِي حَكَمًا وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكِتَابَ مُفَصَّلًا وَالَّذِينَ آَتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ مُنَزَّلٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ [ (Tell them O' Prophet ﷺ) Shall I seek a judge other than Allah, whereas it is He Who has sent down the detailed Book towards you?' And those whom We gave the Book know that this is the truth sent down from your Lord. So (O' Prophet ﷺ tell your followers) not to be among the people who doubt. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 115وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلًا لَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ [ And the Word of your Lord is complete in truth and justice; there is none to change His Words; He is All Hearing, All Knowing. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 116وَإِنْ تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنْ يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ [ (O' believers, be careful) If you follow the majority of people on the earth, they will lead you astray from the path of Allah, for they follow only conjecture and surmise. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 117إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ مَنْ يَضِلُّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ [ Your Lord knows well who has strayed from His way; and He also knows the people who are on guidance.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 118فَكُلُوا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ بِآَيَاتِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ [ Eat only that on which the name of Allah has been pronounced, if you truly believe in His commands. ]It is important to say Bismillahi Allahu Akbar (بسمِ اللهِ اللهُ اكبر) while slaughtering the animals. It is also important to do Fateha and Isaal-e-Thawaab and feed people more frequently.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 119وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُمْ مَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا اضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا لَيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَائِهِمْ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُعْتَدِينَ [ And why should you not eat on which the name of Allah has been pronounced, when He has made it distinctly clear what is forbidden, unless you are constrained to do so. Surely many (men) mislead others into following their vain desires for lack of knowledge. Your Lord certainly knows the transgressors. ]The deviant sects like Salafis, Deobandis and their like minded stop Muslims from Fateha and Isaal-e-Tawaab. Indeed they are transgressors who mislead Muslims from the path of Sharia by misinterpreting certain Quranic verses which were meant for unbelievers. They impose these verses on Muslim dignitaries and lead themselves and others astray.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 120وَذَرُوا ظَاهِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْسِبُونَ الْإِثْمَ سَيُجْزَوْنَ بِمَا كَانُوا يَقْتَرِفُونَ [ Give up both the visible and invisible sin. For those who sin, they will be punished for what they have done. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 121وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِسْقٌ وَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ لِيُجَادِلُوكُمْ وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُمُوهُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُشْرِكُونَ [ And do not eat that on which Allah’s name has not been pronounced, and indeed that is disobedience; and undoubtedly the devils inspire in the hearts of their friends to fight with you; and if you obey them, you are then polytheists. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 122أَوَمَنْ كَانَ مَيْتًا فَأَحْيَيْنَاهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُ نُورًا يَمْشِي بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ كَمَنْ مَثَلُهُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِنْهَا كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ [ Can he, who was lifeless, to whom We gave life, and gave him a light in whose glow he walks among men, be like him who is used to darkness from which he can never emerge? Thus it has been made pleasing to the disbelievers that which they were doing.]The light of Iman and darkness of ignorance and deviance cannot be equated. The people of Sahih Iman will be inclined to walk on the straight path of Islam. The disbelievers and deviants among Muslims who follow different sects will be pleased to walk in darkness and would not like to come out of it in spite of scores of evidences you provide to lead them to the light of Iman.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 123وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِي كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَابِرَ مُجْرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُوا فِيهَا وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ [ And thus, We have made in every town leaders among its criminals that they may conspire in it; and they do not conspire except against themselves and they perceive it not.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 124وَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ آَيَةٌ قَالُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ حَتَّى نُؤْتَى مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ اللَّهِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا صَغَارٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَمْكُرُونَ [ And when a sign comes to them, they say, 'Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم).' Allah knows who is capable of Apostleship. Soon the guilty will be afflicted with disgrace by Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 125فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَهدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقًا حَرَجًا كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِي السَّمَاءِ كَذَلِكَ يَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ [ And whomever Allah wills to guide, He opens his chest (heart) for Islam; and whomever He wills to send astray, He makes his chest narrow and firmly bound as if he were being forced by someone to climb the skies; this is how Allah gives the punishment to those who do not believe.]Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 126وَهَذَا صِرَاطُ رَبِّكَ مُسْتَقِيمًا قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا الْآَيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ [ This is the straight path of your Lord. We made Our signs distinct for those who reflect.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 127لَهُمْ دَارُ السَّلَامِ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ [ For them is an abode of peace with their Lord. He will be their defender as reward for what they did.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 128وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ قَدِ اسْتَكْثَرْتُمْ مِنَ الْإِنْسِ وَقَالَ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمْ مِنَ الْإِنْسِ رَبَّنَا اسْتَمْتَعَ بَعْضُنَا بِبَعْضٍ وَبَلَغْنَا أَجَلَنَا الَّذِي أَجَّلْتَ لَنَا قَالَ النَّارُ مَثْوَاكُمْ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ [ And the Day when He will raise (resurrect) them all and will proclaim, 'O you group of jinns, you have enticed a lot of men'; and their human friends will submit, 'Our Lord, some of us have benefited from one another and have reached the appointed term which You had set for us'; Allah will say, 'Your home is Hell, remain in it for ever, except whoever Allah wills'; Indeed, your Lord is All Wise, Knowledgeable. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 129وَكَذَلِكَ نُوَلِّي بَعْضَ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضًا بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ [ And similarly We make allies some of the oppressors with others, as a recompense of their deeds. ]The people who have evil nature would be more than willing to follow and be in the company of oppressors in the society. Together they create disorder on earth.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 130يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آَيَاتِي وَيُنْذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا قَالُوا شَهِدْنَا عَلَى أَنْفُسِنَا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِينَ [ O you assembly of jinns and men, did not apostles come to you from among you, communicating My signs to you, bringing warnings of this day (of Doom)?' They will answer : 'We bear witness to our sins.' They were surely deluded by the life of the world, and bore witness against themselves because they were unbelievers. ]It is important to note that all Apostles and Prophets were from human beings. Every Apostle taught Islam to Jinns as he taught to his community/nation of his time. Since Jinns' life spans are much longer than humans, they had the opportunity to see many prophets during their lifetime and benefit from their teachings. The Jinns who visited the prophets, in turn, spread the teachings of Islam into their respective tribes. It is in Quran - قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا - يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ ۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا [ Say (O’ Prophet ﷺ), It has been revealed to me that a group of Jinn listened and said; ‘Indeed we have heard the amazing Quran. It guides unto righteousness so we have believed in it, and we will never make partners with our lord’.] (Al-Jinn -1-2)
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 131ذَلِكَ أَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا غَافِلُونَ [ The reason for sending Apostles (one after the other) is that your Lord does not destroy towns and cities while the people in there are unaware. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 132وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِمَّا عَمِلُوا وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ [ And for everyone are ranks as per their deeds; and your Lord is not unaware of what they do. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 133وَرَبُّكَ الْغَنِيُّ ذُو الرَّحْمَةِ إِنْ يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ مَا يَشَاءُ كَمَا أَنْشَأَكُمْ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ آَخَرِينَ [ Your Lord is independent (of any need) and is Most Merciful; (O' people) If He wills, He can remove you and bring others in your place the way He created you from the descendants of others. ]Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 134إِنَّ مَا تُوعَدُونَ لَآَتٍ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ [ Indeed the thing which you are promised (the day of Qiyamah) will definitely come, and it is not in your power to escape. ]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 135قُلْ يَا قَوْمِ اعْمَلُوا عَلَى مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّي عَامِلٌ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ [ Say : O' my people, do what you want to do, I am taking care of my assigned tasks. You will come to know, to whom the abode of happiness belongs. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.]
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 136وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ مِمَّا ذَرَأَ مِنَ الْحَرْثِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ نَصِيبًا فَقَالُوا هَذَا لِلَّهِ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَهَذَا لِشُرَكَائِنَا فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَائِهِمْ فَلَا يَصِلُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَى شُرَكَائِهِمْ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ [ And the polytheists assign to Allah from that which He created of crops and livestock a share, and say 'this is for Allah' in their opinion, 'and this is for our partners (associated with Him).' But what is for their 'partners' does not reach Allah, while what is for Allah reaches their 'partners.' How evil is the judgement they make? ]The above verse is related to the strange customs and beliefs of Makkan pagans. Allah (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) is saying that all these are falsehood created by their minds.
Juz 8, Al-An'aam, verse 137وَكَذَلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَاؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ [ And similarly, their partners (the devils) have made the killing of their children seem righteous in the sight of many of the polytheists, in order to ruin them and make their religion blurred to them; and if Allah willed they would not do so. (O' Propher ﷺ) Leave them to their falsehood. ]
